Men on the Pitch never get Old

IPL made all of us go crazy. However, for some, this craze was not about the fantastic cricket we got to watch. Both the seasons proved a point – men on the pitch never get old. From Gilchrist (37), who led his team from the bottom of the table to championship, to Anil Kumble (38), who took over from the young and brash Pietersen and redefined youth, IPL was all about the older men. There are more reasons than one why one should be open to find a friend in them.

Experience Matters

So, what distinguishes the veterans from the rest? Why are women thrilled about them? A definite edge that they have over young males is experience. Over the years, they have discovered life and learned to enjoy it. When they find a friend, they know how to please her. Older men capitalize on their experience to ensure that their women enjoy being with them. Be it a delectable dish at a restaurant or food for thought, they broaden their companions’ experiences by introducing them to their own.

Giving Space

An older man understands the composition of a relationship in a much more sensitive manner than a young man. When an older man decides to find a friend, he realises that there would be a need to maintain a balance to nurture their relationship. Not only is he sure of what he wants from a relationship, he also respects the individuality of a woman. By the time men become middle-aged, they are very clear about the concept of space. When women ask for it, they understand. At the same time, they make sure that women know that they are very much there, with them when needed.

Enjoying Companionship

Older men have had more time to perfect the art of making women feel special after they find a friend in them. From gifting chocolates to satisfying her romantically; from not making her wait to making her a part of every decision they take; they tell how valuable companionship is to them. There is a mutual ‘feel good’ factor. Both enjoy each other’s company, with the older men knowing the art of expressing that the right way.

Security in a Relationship

Last but not the least, older men and dependability are synonymous. No wonder Rahul Dravid is called ‘The Wall.’ Security – both emotional and financial - is something that attracts women towards them. They find a friend, with a sense of honesty about the purpose of dating him or her and live up to it whether it is for fun or a committed romance. Older men are less likely to play the games that young guys play.

Older men know love and show love, but stay patient. So, the next time Warne cries, “C’mon, boys,” you know why women try to find a friend in him.
